links<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/nav><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"et_pb_toggle_title\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Muwashahs_origin\"><\/span>Muwashah\u2019s origin<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"et_pb_toggle_content clearfix\">\n<p>The Muwashah, also writed Muwashshah, literally meaning\u00a0<strong>embroider<\/strong>, or what binds a pearl next to the other in a necklace, is an Arab word that describes a free structure poem, in Arabic or Hebrew language.<\/p>\n<p>Its origin dates back to the end of the 8<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0century (or 11<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0century according to sources), in Muslim Andalusia, Al Andalus. Some attribute it to Ziriab, while others to the poet Muqaddam ibn Muafa al Qabri. These are musical suites, each with a very specific structure.<\/p>\n<p>There are also some muwashahat put in contemporary musique, both from Middle-East and Andalusia.<\/p>\n<p>This poem can be transposed into music, and if there is to talk about music, the dance is never too far away, but let\u2019s not go there so quickly.<\/p>\n<p>Yet another specification : the muwashah is also used in the Samaa, soufi \u201cchant\u201d. In this case it\u2019s about spiritual \u201cdrunknness\u201d and the love of God.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s get back to the profane muwashah, singed by a solist or a chorus. When it is put into musical form, the rhythm accentuates each one of the words. It results in a very particular musicality and a great richness of the rhymes used. And this makes it very interesting for dancing!<\/p>\n<p>And it\u2019s there where the problems for the profane begin. Terrible!<\/p>\n<p>So let\u2019s take the time to explore the samai rhythm, in order to eliminate any ambiguity. The samai rhythm is of turquish origin, but is used also in the arabic music.<\/p>\n<p>It can be found in the sharqi music, especially the magencies of Dina, the classical, andalusian-arabic and the Samai. Indeed, the term Andalusian or Arabic-Andalusian doesn\u2019t have the same meaning, according to the country and education. Thus the Maghreb Nouba is little known in the Middle-East.<\/p>\n<p>While most of the muwashahat were written in the Middle Ages of Al-Andalus, many poems were also produced in the 19th and 20th centuries in Syria, Egypt, and even the Arabian Peninsula. As for the music, the majority of the Nuba are supposed to be close to those of origin, with local modifications, contrary to the compositions of the Middle East where the musical creation is renewed regularly\u00a0to accompany modern and ancient\u00a0muwashahat.<br \/>The muwashah is called Andalusian in Syria, since the middle of the XIX century because this poetic form is native of Al Andalus, a nostalgia of the golden age of the Arab conquest and its cultural influence, and perhaps also to asserting itself in opposition to the Ottoman invader. Pour plus de d\u00e9tail, suivez les liens.<\/p><p>Mais on retrouve aussi des mouachahat mis en musique contemporaine, qu'ils soient du Moyen-Orient ou d'Andalousie.<\/p><p>Petit apart\u00e9, on dit un mouachah (ou muwashah) au singulier et des mouachahat (ou muwashahat) au pluriel.<\/p><p>Ce po\u00e8me peut \u00eatre mis en musique, et si l'on parle de la musique la danse n'est pas tr\u00e8s loin, mais n'allons pas trop vite.<\/p><p>Encore un apart\u00e9, le mouachah est aussi utilis\u00e9 dans le Samaa, \"chant\" soufi. Dans ce cas il s'agit d'ivresse spirituelle et d'amour de Dieu.<\/p><p>Revenons \u00e0 notre mouachah profane chant\u00e9, en soliste ou avec un choeur. Lorsqu'il est mis en musique, la rythmique accentue chacun des mots prononc\u00e9s. D\u2019o\u00f9 une musicalit\u00e9 tr\u00e8s particuli\u00e8re et une grande richesse des rythmes utilis\u00e9s. Ce qui le rend tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressant \u00e0 danser! Et c'est l\u00e0 que les probl\u00e8mes commencent pour le profane. En effet, LE mouachah le plus connu dans le monde arabe est Lamma Bada Yatathanna qui a pour particularit\u00e9 de ne comporter qu'un seul rythme en 10 temps, le <a title=\"rythme samai\" href=\"http:\/\/www.maqamworld.com\/rhythms\/muwashahat2.html#samai_thaqil\" target=\"_blank\">samai <\/a>(ou samai thaqil).<\/p><p><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OaP_8aStJck?rel=0\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p><p>Et la conclusion directe est d\u2019interpr\u00e9ter chaque composition utilisant le rythme samai comme \u00e9tant un mouachah....<a title=\"Horreur malheur\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=B-BoMozYXng\" target=\"_blank\">Horreur! Malheur!<\/a><\/p><p>Prenons donc le temps d'explorer le rythme samai afin de supprimer toute ambigu\u00eft\u00e9. Tiens un samai dans un Samai ?!<\/p><p>Nouvelle disgression, qu'est que le Samai (avec un \"S\" majuscule dans cet article pour le diff\u00e9rencier du rythme)? C\u2019est un genre musical apparu au XIV ou XV si\u00e8cle dans l'empire ottoman. Il n'y a pas de chant (<strong>donc pas de mouachah<\/strong>), et sa structure est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement compos\u00e9 de rythmes en 10 temps (le samai dont on parle au paragraphe ci-dessus, dit samai thaqil) et en 3 temps (le samai ta'er qui est une sorte de valse rapide). Pour les oreilles voici un <a title=\"Samai kurd Tatyos\" href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/k80ZGtkQsL0\" target=\"_blank\">Samai en mode kurd,<\/a> un<a title=\"Samai AL Aryan\" href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/RxNkXY84-H4\" target=\"_blank\"> Samai en mode bayati<\/a>, le fameux Al Aryan compos\u00e9 par l'\u00e9gyptien Ibrahim Al Aryan au XIX si\u00e8cle.<\/p><p><strong>\u00a0Et comment cela se danse t-il?<\/strong><\/p><p>Et bien comme l'on veut, tant que c\u2019est fait avec \u00e9l\u00e9gance. Il n'y a pas de r\u00e8gles car pas de tradition de danse de ce style. Si le chor\u00e9graphe Mahmoud Reda a cr\u00e9e son propre style, d'autres ont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 diff\u00e9rement ce nouveau genre de danse. La Nouba est peu connue au Moyen-Orient.<\/p><p>Le mouachah est appel\u00e9 andalou en Syrie, depuis le milieu du XIX siecle car cette\u00a0 forme po\u00e9tique est originaire d'Al Andalus, et peut-\u00eatre aussi pour s'affirmer en opposition avec l'envahisseur culturel ottoman . Mais les mouachahat jou\u00e9s dans la Wasla ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crits et leur musiques compos\u00e9es en Syrie. Par extension, certains musiciens \u00e9gyptiens et libanais appellent les diff\u00e9rentes pi\u00e8ces issues d'une Wasla, dont le Samai, musique andalouse...<\/p><p>Nous retrouvons donc des professeurs de danse orientale qui appellent danse mouachahat un Samai.
